The Miracles of Lourdes
It began in 1858, at a grotto near a little village in southwestern France. Mary appeared to a young woman named Bernadette Soubirous eighteen times, announcing: "I am the Immaculate Conception." Mary helped Bernadette to discover a hidden spring at the grotto. That spring was soon to become a fountain of faith, hope, and healing for millions of pilgrims who visit there each year.

Lourdes is truly a place of healing. The Church recognizes 65 miraculous cures there, and thousands more have been reported. And for many others, Lourdes is the place where they have found peace in coming to understand and accept God's will for them.

To all who are sick in body or spirit, the Lord brings hope and comfort through Our Lady of Lourdes

Prayer of the Sick
Dear Jesus, Healer of the Sick, I turn to You in this time of illness. Alleviate my worry and sorrow with Your gentle love and grant me the grace and strength to accept this burden. I place my worries in Your hands. I place myself in Your care and humbly ask that You restore me to health again. Above all, grant me the grace to acknowledge Your holy will and know that You love me and are with me in this, my most difficult time.
